Preparedness for Future Epidemics and Global Health Emergencies

Planning for the next epidemic involves collaboration among the healthcare sector, research institutions, laboratories, governments, and international public health bodies. The emergence of new pathogens, changes in transmission methods, and the movement of people and materials can make early detection and emergency responses difficult. This seminar will look at preparedness plans, surveillance abilities, response planning, and the scientific and practical approaches necessary to minimize the effects of any future infectious disease outbreaks.

Topics include early warning systems, outbreak predictions, laboratory preparedness, development of diagnostic tools, vaccine development, supply chain management during emergencies, and preparedness of the healthcare workforce. The researchers may also discuss public health messaging, international data sharing, risk assessments, and collaboration of local, national, and international response agencies.

Epidemiologists, infectious disease experts, emergency management officials, laboratory scientists, policymakers, and global health scholars are invited to submit their research papers and practical experiences. Papers may be related to outbreak modeling, evaluation of preparedness plans, new ideas for surveillance, emergency responses, and collaboration within research communities. This session seeks to improve preparedness systems and collaborations between different disciplines to detect, respond to, and manage future infectious disease challenges.
