3rd Edition of Infectious Diseases World Conference 2027

Scientific Sessions - IDWC 2027

Influenza, RSV, SARS-CoV-2, and the Future of Combined Respiratory Vaccines

The pathogens that cause influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, and SARS-CoV-2 infections continue to cause morbidity and strain on the health care system. Seasonal patterns, pathogen adaptation, and risks of serious complications in vulnerable patients make it necessary to introduce highly efficient vaccination. Progress in vaccine research is providing grounds for developing vaccines which would protect against several pathogens at once and optimize immunization strategy.

This session will be devoted to the analysis of vaccines against influenza, RSV, and COVID-19. Attention will be paid to the efficiency and safety of the existing vaccines, as well as their specific target population and place in the framework of prevention of serious conditions caused by the infections. Issues of the immune response to the vaccinations, virus mutations, and vaccine development will be discussed.

A special emphasis will be made on the development of combination respiratory vaccines that would provide protection from several pathogens in a single vaccine. The issues of clinical trials, formulation, regulation, and assessment of immune responses will be discussed.
