3rd Edition of Infectious Diseases World Conference 2026

Scientific Sessions

Prevention and Control

The session will address ways to reduce the spread of infection (infectious disease) in both healthcare and community service settings. Various experts will discuss standardized measures (inherent to ALL healthcare facilities), such as hand hygiene and sterilization methods. The importance of structured infection control programs will be discussed in the context of healthcare facilities. The session will include an examination of outbreak containment strategies and methods to reduce exposure to infectious diseases. IDWC 2026 promotes safe, effective healthcare environments worldwide. Numerous case studies, illuminating successful examples of infection control (the use of infection prevention strategies to isolate infectious agents and prevent their transmission ultimately), will be used in this session to increase attendees' (Health professionals) awareness of best practices. Ultimately, the discussion in this session will benefit patients and enhance the quality and safety of healthcare services rendered.

Further discussions will examine the role of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in preventing infectious diseases. Research on technology for infection prevention and control (monitoring systems) will be presented. IDWC 2026 encourages the adoption of advanced technologies, including infection-prevention tools, across healthcare systems. In addition, the session will examine challenges encountered within low-resource healthcare environments. Furthermore, training frontline healthcare workers in infection prevention will be emphasized. Recent advancements in sterilization and disinfection methods that will result in more efficient infection control will also be discussed. The objective of this segment of the session is to promote the establishment of a globally accepted standard for infection prevention and control.

Policy frameworks and regulatory guidelines related to the prevention and control of infection will also be discussed during this session of IDWC 2026. Experts will provide their recommendations based on the guidelines developed by international public health organizations. Participants will explore the means for implementing these policies through different healthcare systems. The emphasis on surveillance during the session will be consistent regardless of the country or geographical area in which healthcare facilities operate.
